Join Our Collective

At Pones, we are always looking to connect with passionate dancers and teaching artists who are excited about making meaningful, movement-based work in the Greater Cincinnati area. Founded in 2008, Pones uses all styles of dance for justice, transformation, and connection, often performing in site-specific settings beyond the traditional stage.

Whether you’re an experienced performer, an emerging artist, or someone who thrives in community and educational settings, there’s a place for you in our collective. Pones sends out gig opportunities each month with details on what, where, when, and pay, allowing artists to self-select what fits their schedule, interests, and values.

Our Programs

Pones in Public (PiP)
Site-specific, community-centered performances that bring art into unexpected spaces. These works often focus on social issues and are created in collaboration with neighborhoods, organizations, and the public.

Productions & Collaborations (P+C)
Full-scale productions and creative partnerships with other arts organizations, artists, and institutions. These projects highlight original choreography and storytelling through interdisciplinary performance.

Laboratory of Movement
Teaching opportunities are focused on using movement as a tool for expression, education, and connection through workshops, classes, and community events for all age groups, bodies, and experience levels. Artists in this program help design and lead inclusive, accessible, and trauma-informed experiences that meet participants where they are.

Programming takes place in a variety of community settings, including:

  • Schools
  • Community centers
  • Social service agencies
  • Public spaces

These classes empower people to move freely, tell their stories, and explore the world through movement.

Additional details:

  • Most classes are co-taught, with occasional solo teaching
  • Teaching artists must pass FBI/BCI background checks
  • A minimum of 10 classes per fiscal year is expected
  • Sessions typically occur on weekdays between 8am–6pm, with occasional weekend classes
